2024 This is a Woodsbury style knife as taught by master craftsmen in southern Ohio and Woodbury Kentucky. The goal of this style piece is to create a knife that is historically accurate in the manner similar to the times or our ancestors. These methods include hand forging with a coal forge and shaping and edge creation using hand file techniques to hand sanding finished blade and handles. This knife measures 10 inches overall with a 5 inch blade, which is American made 1095 carbon steel. The dark pitted finish of this type of knife has been artificially aged to show patina which would be consistent with knives of old. The handles are American grown walnut fixed with brass pins. This knife fits snugly in a handmade sheath also made here in my Ohio shop. This sheath is hand sewn leather saddle stitching which is NOT without imperfections as are visible in the pictures. This imperfection will not affect the wear nor function of this sheath.
