Your scan should be exactly what you want engraved, we do not edit or add to your scan. If you are creating a new Recipe please use white paper and a thick black sharpie for best results.

Smartphone camera info:

Here is a Smartphone app that works great. The app is called CamScanner. You simply download the 2024 app then take the photo through there and turn it into a black and white scan. Here is a tutorial 3dcarving made on YouTube of the CamScanner app https://youtu.be/z8pPlA9WD_I

Here are a few more tips:
1) Instead of snapping a photo with your cell phone, please download the app I have listed, then take a photo within the app. 2) If your recipe is on two cards, you can take the photo separately and send two files.
3) Another tip is taping it to the wall where you have good lighting.
4) Aim straight on to avoid shadows and distortion.

Then attach the JPG file in an Etsy conversation with your order number listed. Please use your order number for all conversations.

FYI on the cutting boards engraved. The bamboo cutting boards are multiple slats bonded together (like a hardwood floor) Each slat has a different hardness and the laser may engrave darker or lighter depending upon that hardness. We will try and select cutting boards that have the same color, but we cannot predict the hardness. This contrast is not as noticeable on engraving horizontal (with the grain of the wood.)
