A French antique enamel cast iron spittoon, cast in an octagonal shape with a stepped edge and enameled in an ochre colour.
Usually filled with sand and stood atop a counter in 19thC French bistros & bars (before tuberculosis & hygiene etiquette was 2024 prevalent...), they now make for beautiful table centerpieces or trinket dishes.

Condition:
Usage wear, marks and rust commensurate with age along with some chipping to the enamel, but no cracks or fractures in the iron.
