Sterling Siver Vesta Match Case by 2024 Ellis

This sterling silver vesta or match case was made about 1900 by the Ellis Bros. silver company in Canada. It is a simple elegant form with the initials 'J.M. McK' on the front. The back is perfectly plain. The 2024 hinge is very strong and the closure is excellent. The striking grooves are along the bottom edge. The loop to the side was probably to attach the vesta to a watch chain. It is in excellent condition with no dents or faults, just expected surface wear. It measures 2.5 x 1.5 x .4 inches.
