I'll turn your description and/or photos into a one-of-a-kind drawing. My goal for the drawing is to make you smile when you see it.

This listing is for a custom portrait of TWO PEOPLE + ONE OBJECT + TEXT of your choice. Drawings pictured here are not available (but if you love them I can create something very similar.)

This listing is for an actual drawing (not a digital print) using colored pencil on 6 x 6 inch (15.24 x 15.24 centimeters) or 8 x 8" (20.32 x 20.32cm) archival paper.

What 2024 to do:

1. Click "request a custom order" or the "ask a question" button if you have questions or need help figuring out what listing(s) will work for your idea. **Please make sure to check your spam folder. You will always hear from me within 24 hours of your convo.**
2. I'll create a custom listing just for you or point you in the direction of an existing listing. Purchase the listing.
3. Through the Etsy message feature or via email (peopleyoumaymeet[at]gmail.com), send one or more photos of the people you'd like drawn. Don't stress about this part, I just need one face-forward view, and otherwise almost any photo will work. I like to see people in their element, acting goofy, being themselves. Send as many photos as you'd like.
4. Let me know if you'd like the subjects posed a certain way (holding hands, arms around each other, jumping, etc.) Want particular outfits? Let me know.
5. I'll have the portrait safely wrapped up and in the mail to you within 3 weeks. If you have an earlier deadline I'm happy to try and accommodate it, just let me know.

One of my favorite parts of the process is hearing from you about the subjects of the portrait. I'm happy to make suggestions, help whittle down ideas, or simply let inspiration from your photos and stories take over.

High quality materials include:

Thick, archival paper in neutral tones.
For those of you who are paper-enthusiasts, I use Rives BFK which is mouldmade in France, 100% cotton, is acid free and light on the sizing leaving it soft, pliable and delightful. I tear the large sheets down to size, so you will see a fibrous edge and may see a watermark and/or natural deckle.

Prismacolor pencils.
These are not the colored pencils you remember from elementary school! They are professional quality pencils that feature high quality pigments in a soft, blend-able core for rich color saturation. The result is a much brighter and vibrant drawing than we were ever able to achieve in 4th grade.

The image ends up with a semi-gloss from the blended layers of colored pencil while the paper surrounding the images remains lightly textured.

These are heirloom-quality materials.
