This listing features a Vintage NOS HORSE INFORMATION CHART by Ulster R. N. 16061 linen tea towel featuring the very famous equine artistry of Sam Savitt.

The towel features HORSE Markings, Conformation and Faults and just about any other information you would want to learn about the Horse. I have seen this information on a laminated chart, but never on a towel. It is simply gorgeous. The background of the towel is a pale yellow with a smaller white and pale green border, and a larger Light Blue border. The horses are beautifully depicted in their natural colors. The towel is quite large and could easily be framed. The top and bottom edges of the towel are stitched with all stitching tight with no edge fraying. The left corner features the words IRISH LINEN. In the center is the name of the towel HORSE INFORMATION CHART by ULSTER. The SAVITT signature in all capital letters is on the LEFT side. Below the Savitt name you will find a green sticker marked ALL LINEN, Made in Ireland, R.N. 16061. The words MADE IN IRELAND are on the bottom right side of the towel. The towel measures approximately 19" W x 30" L. The towel shows no signs of ever being used. I have not washed or ironed the towel. It is in as found condition from a recent estate sale.

What a gorgeous towel to own! The horses are lovely to look at. Sam Savitt horse memorabilia is very collectible. A beautiful way to start collecting Savitt horses or a wonderful piece to add to your collection.

A little about Sam Savitt:
Sam Savitt (1917-2000) was an equine artist, author and illustrator. He was the official illustrator of the US Equestrian Team. Savitt is renowned for his passionate portrayal of horses. Sam Savitt lived in North Salem, NY on a farm he called One Horse Farm. One of the most beautiful quotes attributed to Sam Savitt is the following "The horse is beauty, strength, rhythm, and action. To really know and understand him, to capture his magnificence with pencil or brush, will to me be forever challenging." As an admirer and collector of his work, this quote will always come to mind when viewing how beautifully he portrayed his love of the horse.
