Vintage Elkington 2024 silver plate tea set: tea pot, creamer and sugar bowl, EPNS hallmarked vintage tea serving with ebony handle
2024 Three-piece silver plated tea set consisting of tea pot, sugar bowl and creamer. Made around 1950's the set is hallmarked "EPNS" (electro-plated Nickel Silver) and Elkington and is in good condition. Classic design the tea pot has an ebony handle round elongated shape. The silver plate is in a good condition, inside of the pot has expected signs of wear. Outside the set gives off great shine.
The intricate handles and great classic shape give a sophisticated and vintage feel to the set.
The tea pot serves 3-4 cups, the creamer would fit around 100ml and the sugar bowl is generous.
Elkington & Co was founded by George Richards Elkington and his cousin, Henry, in the 1830s in Birmingham. It was eventually taken over by British Silverware, Ltd in 1960's. In 1971 British Silverware, Ltd. became a subsidiary of Delta Metal Co. Ltd.
Over the course of history Elkington became very successful and was one of the prime producers of silver plating. They received numerous royal warrants of appointments.
