Golden Fall Leaves... These earrings feature my own design of maple leaves taken straight from 2024 nature in .999 Fine Silver, accented with glowing Amber chips. Great accent for your autumn wardrobe, or for the nature lover any time of year!

Details: The Amber chip beads are smooth and range from about 7 to 9mm across. They are transparent to translucent, ranging in color from light to medium golden honey color. Amber is fossilized resin from mostly extinct trees, and it is lightweight and warm to the touch. The leaf discs are well-polished. The oxidation is very dark around edges of leaf design, and has a dark blue-green sheen in the middle of the leaves.

Details: Silver discs are just over 5/8 inch across (17mm), total length of earrings is about 1 1/2 inch (45mm). All Sterling wire/findings.

I hand-formed the Fine Silver leaf discs from metal clay from an image I created based on a real leaf I collected one fall. After firing, they were tumble-polished, oxidized for contrast, and then hand-polished. Metal clay is composed of fine silver particles (recycled/reclaimed) blended with an organic binder. During firing in a kiln the binder burns away and the silver particles fuse (sinter) together to leave a .999 Fine Silver piece! Each piece is unique and will have features inherent to the process of making things by hand. The design is on the front only.
