Product code: Cape May Warbler & Beautyberry - 2024 Watercolor Original
This Cape May Warbler - poised for flight - is perched on an American Beautyberry twig. I was inspired to paint this after watching this species (and dozens of others!) at Tawas Point State Park in eastern Michigan. Migratory birds flying north in the spring stop along the shores of the Great Lakes to fuel up for the final leg of their journey to Canada. Exhausted from their flight over the continental US, these birds usually take no notice of photographers and birders - making magical, up-close encounters possible! 2024
