About the Artist -

Michael Galloway has worked with wood for over 50 years. After retiring to Louisiana, hurricane Laura downed several trees beside his workshop in 2020, and the next year he discovered that several of the logs had spalted grain, a highly sought-after effect created when a fungus infects wood. Using this spalted wood, Michael has handcrafted a series of keepsake and jewelry boxes with brilliant patterns. We hope these boxes can become heirlooms in your family because each is a work of art.
