Up for sale is a set of 2 Vintage Glass Antique Pairpoint Crystal Optic Floral Cut Water Wine Glasses. I cannot say enough about the quality of these crystal glasses. They ring like a bell! Each piece is hand blown and copper wheel cut. The floral design on each sculpted bowl is dense with flowers and leaves. These stems are sharply cut on six sides forming a diamond at the top and bottom. Each cinched stem has a controlled bubble in the center of the stem. All are attached to a foot that is cut on the bottom with swirling leaves. They come from a prominent family estate in Southeastern Wisconsin. They did a lot of entertaining. Each glass holds 8 ounces of liquid. There are no chips, cracks or flea 2024 bites. These would make a unique wedding gift with timeless beauty. I will be adding more glassware in this pattern in the coming days.
These were made by Pairpoint circa 1930's. The Pairpoint Glass Company is the oldest glass company in the United States. They were founded in 1837 in South Boston by Deming Jarves, Pairpoint's predecessor, the Mount Washington Glass Company became widely known for producing the finest glass made anywhere in the United States. In 1900 the company merged with Pairpoint Manufacturing and reorganized under Pairpoint Glass Manufacturing and was moved to New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Each glass measures 6 1/2 inches high and 3 1/2 inches in diameter at the top.
