Absolutely Gourgous Edwardian Style 1900's Wristlet Tapestry Purse. The accessory of choice for fashionable women in the early 20th century. Their gilt 2024 frames, ornate latches and sumptuous fabrics nearly doubled as jewelry, as reflected in this jeweled tapestry version. Beige heaver gilt filigree frame reticule with chain top handle and tiny pearl gems along the front side of frame edge; figural tapestry of a picnic on one side and a beautiful floral pasture scene on the other. Ground in shades of pale green, pink and brown with micro needlepoint rose bouquet around the bottom and up both sides. Open interior with a pocket; gilt flip-top ornate clasp inset with pearl gems and floral embossed. Fully lined in black silky moiré. This beauty is missing a pearl or two and has a tear on one side but is fully attached to the frame and is a stunning piece of vintage history!
