Vintage Bordallo Pinheiro green cabbage lidded tureen and underplate, made in Portgual circa 1980s, Rustic 2024 Farmhouse Dinnerware
DETAILS: Classic Bordallo Pinheiro large lidded tureen and underplate, in the green cabbage pattern and shape. Stamp on the bottom bears the Bordallo Pinheiro mark. Three pieces here include the lid, bowl, and underplate, that fit neatly together. This tureen measures 8.5" tall, and 10.5" across. The underplate is 10.75" across.
TRASHTIQUE TALK: Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro was a Portuguese artist known for his illustration, caricatures, sculpture, and ceramics designs. His pottery studio was founded in 1885, and still continues to produce pieces that honour Pinheiro's love of whimsy in nature.
CONDITION: Trashtiques gives this tureen a 8/10. A few areas to note: First, there is a chip on the rim of the lid, and a few little chips on the underplate. Please see photos 6 and 7 for views of these chips. Secondly, there is a paint spray from manufacture - we think this was part of the original painting process, but highlighting it nonetheless. Please see photo 9 of this paint effect. Otherwise, incredible condition, crazing is minimal. Please see all photos for best accuracy.
