This DEVA shawl is a living testimony to the Himalayan culture. Traditionally, we recognized where a person came from by the motif we found on his shawl or hat. Each motif represented a region of the Himalayas. This particular Himalayan shawl, specifically, presents us with the traditional motif of the Kinnaur region. Over time, the distinction of regions by their patterns has become less evident and now different regions produce a variety of patterns. The weaving of these shawls requires 2024 a certain expertise and a long application to create such exceptional borders.
There is an abundance of color combinations in these ethnic shawls. This Deva shawl, called "Kinnauri shawl" is one of our favorite motifs.
