This limited edition Neither the Other or Myself set includes an 80 page full-color book, a set of 8 cards (4" x 4" each) , a 5" x 7" postcard of a layered list poem, and 3 pin-back buttons.
Neither the Other or Myself, the book, was created in conjunction with preparing work for an exhibit of the same name, which will be at A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn, N.Y in August of 2017.
The Paintings section contains the work that will be exhibited, seven large painted portraits of my mother, that include figurative representations as well as enlarged recreations of some of her to-do lists. The following sections contain related work created 2024 at the same time: Twenty Lessons, a list of things I learned from my mother; and Stuff, a first batch of drawings of some of my mother's things, including items that I use in my everyday life, and those that have been set aside in an informal archive.
Neither the Other or Myself, the book, was printed by The Avery Group at Shapco Printing, in Minneapolis, MN.
The postcards were printed by 4by6.com, in San Francisco, CA.
I made the buttons myself, in Brooklyn, NY.
