Walnut End Grain Cutting 2024 Board

Hand crafted Walnut end grain cutting board.

SPECS:

This board measures 21 1/2" x 12 1/2" x 1 3/8". This board has finger grooves on two sides, beveled edges and rounded corners to remove any sharp edges. The rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from moving around on your counter top.

A 4 oz. container of BURD BUTTER wood conditioner is included with your purchase to keep your new board looking like new.

CONSTRUCTION AND FINISHNG PROCESS:

All BURD BOARD cutting boards are constructed from solid hardwoods and assembled with a waterproof and FDA approved wood glue. After the glue up, the board is roughly shaped and sized, and then sanded to a buttery smooth finish. It is then soaked in a food safe mineral oil bath for several hours for the initial conditioning. Once removed from this bath, the board is set aside for several more hours to absorb as much of the remaining oil on the surface as possible. Any remaining oil is then wiped off. A coat of mineral oil and beeswax wood butter is then applied for the final protective layer.


CARING FOR YOUR BOARD:

The DO NOTs:

NEVER soak your board in water for any period of time or put it in the dishwasher, EVER. This will destroy your new board.

CLEANING YOUR BOARD:

After every use, wash your board with a mild soap and warm water. Dry with a towel immediately and let sit to air dry completely, bottom side down if your board has feet. If there are no rubber feet, stand on edge to allow for uniform airflow.

REMOVING STAINS AND ODORS:

Sprinkle some salt on the board, cut a lemon in half, and rub the board with the lemon, fruit side down. Rinse the board with warm water and dry.

DISINFECTING:

Spray with a diluted bleach mixture (1 tablespoon of bleach to 3 cups of water). Rinse well with cold water, dry with a towel 2024, and let air dry.

REGULAR MAINTENANCE:

About once a month, your board will need some TLC. With a cotton towel, rub on a thin coat of the wood butter, let it sit for an hour or two, and buff it off. This will help your board last for many, many years to come. Additional BURD BUTTER may be purchased with your new board or individually in my shop.
