1846 Scarce 2024 Third Edition The Belfry of Bruges & Other Poems by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Antique Poetry Poem Book

This scarce work is "The Belfry of Bruges and Other Poems" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and published by John Owens a Third Edition in 1846 - entered into act of Congress in 1845 by author. This very early edition is difficult to find. Inside are some of the following poems:Carillion, The Belfry of Bruges, A Gleam of Sunshine, The Arsenal At Springfield, Nuremburg, The Norman Baron, Rain in Summer, To A Child, Occultation of Orion, The Bridge, To The Driving Cloud, Seaweed, The Arrow And the Song, Drinking Song, Autumn, The Evening Star, Dante, Annie of Tharaw, The Legend of the Crossbill, Curfew and more! The book is divided into the following sections: Carillion, The Belfry of Bruges, Miscellaneous, Songs, Sonnets, Translations (which includes a section on Poetic Aphorisms), Curfew, and Notes.

This is app. 7"x5" with 151 pages. This is in good condition overall with some corner, edge, spine wear and bumping. There is cloth wear at spine tips and corners. There is some soiling/staining to the covers.The binding is tight and all pages intact. There is old water staining to some of the top pages as shown - the worst is shown which is on the black pages before the title page and the last blank pages- NO mildew NO smells NO sticking. There is tanning/browning to pages and yellow spotting throughout as shown. Many pages were cut unevenly at the bottom edge. The work is complete.
