Hand knit hat. A warm wool winter beanie, hand knit with subtle pinwheel design on the top. Multiple yarns create a multi-hued effect. Intriguing textures. An original design by Life's an Expedition, for women or men.
COLORS: Shades of deep rose, purple, cranberry red, plum, blue-violet, red-violet, beige.
FIBERS: About half wool plus silk and synthetic fibers.
SIZE: This should fit adult heads ranging from XS to large; see size chart in photos. TO MEASURE YOUR HEAD: If you don't have a tape measure, you can use a piece of string and compare it to a ruler. If you don't have those, take an 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of printer paper and cut a couple of 1-inch strips from the long side, tape them together at one end without any overlap--resulting in a 22" (55.88 cm) long strip of paper--and wrap it around your head at eyebrow level while looking in a mirror. If the paper fits fairly closely without much gap or overlap, you're a medium and most of our hats will fit a medium. If there's a 1/2" gap, go with a Large (L). A 1" gap means you need an XL. But if the paper overlaps 1/2", go with a Small (S). With a 1" overlap, look for XS. As of this writing, we have dozens of hats in various sizes and colors for men and women in other listings. We test every hat for size and put the size range-- XS S M L XL --in each headline to make your search easier. Custom orders are not available. Hats are already made and ready to ship.
I know, it's a pain to measure your head, but ever since we came up with this system, our hat customers have been quite pleased with their orders. Some customers have ordered four or more hats.

Our winter hats tend to be warmer than the average winter hat--primarily 2024 for the Northern US and Canada. But we also sell LIGHTER WEIGHT HATS that you might be able to wear up to half the year or more. Lightweight is subjective, though. It depends on where you live and your comfort level. Look for the word FALL or SPRING in the headline.
