I am offering a great preservation of 1548 GERMAN STATES Saxony – Albertine Elector Duke Maurice (1521–1553) Dreier, 3 pfennig silver coin # 269.
Date: 1548.
The Albertine branch is a German princely family of the House of Wettin. The name derives from the progenitor of the line, Albert III, Duke of Saxony. The Albertine branch ruled from 1485 to 1918 as dukes, electors 2024 and kings in Saxony.
Ruler: Maurice (21 March 1521 – 9 July 1553) was Duke (1541–47) and later Elector (1547–53) of Saxony. His clever manipulation of alliances and disputes gained the Albertine branch of the Wettin dynasty extensive lands and the electoral dignity.
Obverse: Shield of electoral Saxony arms, ornate helmet above.
Reverse: Shield of ducal Saxony arms, ornate helmet above with tall ornament, which divides date as D - 56 (D=500).
Size: 17.9 mm.
Weight: 0.9 grams.
Condition: Preservation VF, no stains nor scratches, nice gray patina. Please check photos for your own grading.
As a coin collector I DO NOT clean any of my coins to preserve the original patina, if you wish to clean the coin/s I will leave it up to you.
The coin you see in the photo is the coin you get.
Fantastic for your jewelry, craft projects, Steampunk, collage art projects or just a great addition to your vintage coins collection.
