Every Opal I offer to sell here is a result of my many years experience both as a Gemmologist and a Gemstone Cutter and Polisher. I have personally cut every single one of these stones. Unlike the vast majority of Opal cutters, I also polish the back of each of my stones. However, it is in the first place a rare opal that will cut a good, unblemished face. It is even rarer to find one that will cut a smooth back without pits or sand spots. Most, but not all Opals, are placed in settings that hide the backs of the stones. Although some of my opals do have imperfections on the back, as is common, I still polish the back to achieve the best possible outcome.
