The safety chain is stamped with the maker's mark 'P.J.', the 'anchor' of the Birmingham Assay office and the date letter 2024 'N' for 1987.We have acid tested the safety chain and in our opinion it is 9 carat gold.

The width of the safety chain is 1.4 mm approx.
The width of the jump rings either side is 5.6 mm approx.
