Kiko, meaning " pipe " in Swahili-Kiswahili to English translation, is probably the best known of the various brands from Africa. (pipedia.org/wiki/Kiko)
The pipe bowl is lined with genuine solid block Amboseli African meerschaum. A solid metal fitting is in the shank and attaches to a straigth shaped vulcanite stem. The Kiko elephant logo is stamped in white on the side of the slightly bent black stem.
Stamped "KIKO" with the model #11 on one side of the shank and "Made in Tanganyika" on the other, this is an authentic and rare one of a kind pipe from Africa.
Although the pipe is over a half century old it is unsmoked in excellent condition. The pipe comes with its original box which does show a bit of wear. It also includes an original small booklet telling a history of meerschaum with a description and pictures of the different pipe styles and a yellow plastic sleeve.
