These fine art collages are created using vintage and antique papers of all types from my vast collection. I love the honest aging of all these pieces...especially the foxing, tears, yellowing and bending with age. The collages are mounted on watercolor paper before being 2024 adhered to the frame: in this case it is a gallery wrapped canvas with a painted edge.

This particular art piece was created with a Patriotic flair as I chose items that represented different aspects of the United States of America. The gold cover of an mayoral inauguration from the mid 1940's has beautiful embossing and an aged sheen that is simply beautiful. The photo of a woman singing at a Memorial Day Event in the 1950's. The music was added, along with a piece of a book cover proudly announcing America as the owner. A piece of a Thrift Card from the 1930's shows the charity of our great nation. I added a child's schoolwork to remind us of where we all started, and the finishing touches were paper pieces in blue tones to ground the piece. I add a title to each piece in the form of typewritten poetry on the back of the art. The piece has been sprayed with a sealer to prevent any damage to the artwork.
