Larger Antique POST OFFICE Lockbox Bank from old Post Office 2024 Boxes. Made by Retired Postmaster! 1959 Texas

Here is an antique Combination Lockbox bank made from authentic antique post office box combination doors. Single combination and wonderful metal door with a Greek key design. Clean Brass works inside made in 1959. Now the Cabinet was made by an actual Postmaster! The door was from the Broadway Station, Houston, Texas post office. I acquired this from his son who told me that his Dad teamed up with the Post Office janitor who created these post office door banks and sold them at craft shows. They took great care to match the grains of the Oak and gave them a hand rubbed finish. Sadly, his Dad passed away four years ago. This is the uncommon larger post office box. The bank measures 7 1/2" high by 6 1/2" wide by 4" deep. Clean condition and great workmanship. Wonderful piece of Americana. Souvenir Post Office rent due card included. The last photo shows the types and ages of the various doors the post office used. This was from 1997. A copy of this will be included. Buyer will pay 4 pounds shipping.
