Antique Orthodox Ukrainian Icon. Saint Blaise and Saint 2024 Eulampius. Very Rare Christian Painting
Your attention is invited to the Ukrainian antique icon circa 1900s
It is believed that Saint Eulampius, a Christian youth from Nicomedia (Izmit, Turkey), suffered for his faith under the East Roman emperor Maximinus Daya. Evlampy was arrested for trying to buy bread for many Christians hiding in caves outside the city. Soon after Evlampy was severely beaten, a girl jumped out of the crowd of onlookers and, hugging him by the neck, gently hugged him. The girl was the sister of Evlampy Evlampia. She was immediately arrested and executed the next day with her brother.
Also Saint Blaise, an 2024 early Christian saint, and martyr. Saint Blaise is highly revered in both Catholic and Orthodox churches. The last photo shows a stained glass window depicting Saint Blaise in the French city of Soissons.
