Product code: Dept. 56 HIGBEES from “A Christmas Story” (NO Flag) 2024 2007
This is HIGBEES DEPARTMENT STORE from the classic movie ‘A Christmas Story'. Made by Dept 56, this piece is in like new condition with no chips, breaks, or cracks…however in these first couple of years of production, the flag was made of an odd composite material which disintegrated with use & age and then crumbled! ***This is the case with this one…so the hole where the flag is supposed to be is plugged, and cannot be cleared. SEE LAST PHOTO -in box with styrofoam inserts which protect the piece during shipping as well as in storage -with light cord & lightbulb This of course, is the more desired version with collectors due to Dept 56 having to stop using the HIGBEE name because they didn't have HIGBEE'S consent to do so, leading to many legal issues. Now, the same mold is used but it is generically called “The Department Store”. Box has a bit of wear on top (SEE PHOTO 11), but overall in good 2024 solid condition. Originally sold exclusively at Sears for $39.99! As shown.
