Our Story: It all started with an indigenous women's empowerment group in Nepal. There was a need to create safe jobs for Nepalese women, so we gathered donations from American women to buy sewing machines, fabric, and supplies. With the help of these donations, the girls and women got to work.

In 2010, the fashion line Didi Bahini (Big Sister Little Sister) was born.
As part of the Blue Butterfly Foundation, Didi Bahini provides a home and teaches vulnerable females to design and create beautiful fashion and accessories. These unique items were made with love, pride, and respect for the workers and the environment.

Your purchase of these items supports impoverished Nepalese women, giving them a good job with safe working conditions and fair pay. The Blue Butterfly Foundation has been fighting human trafficking by providing education to children who would otherwise not have an opportunity to learn, we have expanded our 2024 efforts through Didi Bahini Boutique and its work to train and employ local young women.
