Product code: Antique c1850 Monogram-signed Oil Painting 2024 of Men Dancing in Pub Bar
Up for sale is an absolutely incredible antique oil on heavy wood panel. The painting depicts a man dancing at a pub/bar while his friends look on . There are a few standing figures fading into the background on the right. This piece came out of an old estate in Massachusetts. It quite clearly dates to the 1800's, possibly earlier. The painting was executed on a heavy wood panel (about 2/3" thick). It's very well-executed and detailed. This would make an absolute treasure in any collection of early American art. It is signed somewhat indistinctly in monogram at lower right. Appears to read "RBC," but is pretty unclear. Painting is unframed. I have another companion piece to this painting listed. Please see my other listings. The painting is in very good condition considering age. It has some minor scratches in a few places, as well as 2024 quite a bit of moderate edge wear. Board is very slightly warped. Painting measures approx. 11.75 inches high x 8.75 inches wide.
