This is a new concept of using ceramic zirconium, the same material used for dental crowns to make pen nibs with.

First designed for use in sofrus by Hebrew scribes. Ceramic offers a number of advantages over metal or feather quills.

They offer consistent accurate writing over a whole Sefer Torah or hundreds of mezuzos. Unlike feathers or plastic which constantly need sharpening, once it is shaped and cut it will stay fixed. This is particularly useful for novices where constant resharpening results in inconsistent letter sizing in a Sefer Torah or Megillah

They are corrosion free unlike metal and it remains sharp for a long time. Meaning you can use it intensely on a daily basis for over a year without needing to 2024 sharpen at all.
