Vintage Toucan Wooden Mask is hand-carved and hand-painted by Mayan Artisans. This is one art piece of a large personal collection which was purchased and imported from the Guatemalan market 2024 town of Chichicastenango in the 1980s.
The hand making of masks, used by dancers in traditional ceremonies, have made this city well known for wood carving.

Revered by the Maya, the Toucan was a mystic symbol, an incarnation to fly to the spirit world.
