The Enlisted Service Dress White Uniform is worn by both male and female Sailors in the rates of E-1 to E-6 and may be prescribed for wear during the Summer. It comes in two variants: the Service Dress White (SDW) and Full Dress White (FDW). The SDW is worn when Dinner Dress or Full Dress Uniforms are not prescribed and the civilian clothing equivalent is coat and tie. Replacing the military ribbons prescribed for the SDW with standard-sized medals transforms it into the Full Dress White Uniform, which is reserved for specific types of formal occasions. These include Change of Command ceremonies; official visits with honors; ceremonial visits to Foreign Men-of-War and Foreign Officials; and occasions of State, Ceremonies, and Solemnities.

Description of JUMPER
Made of white 100% polyester, (certified navy twill) fabric, loose 2024 fitting, open at the neck and with a square sailor collar. The jumper has two welt style pockets located outside on the front, and a side zipper on the left for improved ease of donning and doffing. The bottom of the jumper is finished with a turn-up hem. The collar has two stars on the jumper flap and is trimmed with three strips of navy blue piping, each 3/16 inch wide and 3/16 inch apart with outer piping 1/4 inch from collar edge. Sleeves have two navy blue button fasteners on cuffs, trimmed with three piping of navy blue tape, each piping 3/16 inch wide and 3/16 inch apart, centered horizontally on the cuff and blocked off each end by a perpendicular white stripe 3/16 inch wide, connecting the ends of the horizontal piping. Distance from outer edge of perpendicular stripe cuff's open end is approximately 1-3/8 inches. Buttons are 25-line, black, with Anchors.

Description of TROUSER
Made of authorized 100% polyester (Certified Navy Twill) white fabric with inverted side creases, belt loops, zippered fly front closure, and two side and back pockets.

Description of NECKERCHIEF
A 36 inch square made of plain black silk, or synthetic fabric.
