Calcite and Aragonite are essentially both a calcium carbonate but aragonite forms when exposed to greater amounts of heat and pressure. Aragonite is a very soft mineral (with a Mohs hardness of 3), so it is common for there to be imperfections or nicks along the surface.
Blue Aragonite is a peaceful stone that resonates with the Throat, Third Eye and Heart chakras, uniting all three. A strong Throat chakra stone on all levels, it is very calming, healing to the emotions, and can assist in all types of communication; especially the communication received from spirit and spirit guides. Blue aragonite is also a strong stone of spiritual vision.
