Product code: Limestone with lumachelle- polished slice- Kimmeridgian of the region of Bar sur Aube-Faance-stone 2024 of the French vineyards

Shelled limestone slab also called lumachelle limestone. It is a very fine-grained limestone dotted with small fossilized oysters in the shape of commas " Exogyra virgula ". A marble stone with terribly aesthetic graphics. This stone was glued by myself in the vineyards of Champagne in the region of Bar sur Aube-Faance-Geology and wine-growing terroirs are intimately linked. Thus we can say that the lands of the Kimmeridgian era (150 million years) bear a good number of the most famous vineyards of Faance and in particular great white wines such as Champagne, Chablis, Sancerre, Pouilly, Saint Bris and many others. These marl soils composed of limestone, clay and fossilized shells natur/lly disintegrate under the effect of erosion and soil biochemistry, thus nourishing the precious vine plants that give power and great minerality to the wines.Looking at the second photo, we can notice the resemblance between an ancient handwriting and the calligraphy of small oysters. It is in a way a Rosetta stone to understand the Champagne vineyards!Polished stone on one side.Dimension: 2024 11 x 9.3 x 0.9 cm.Weight 143 grams.
